This project focusses on development of a robot that can autonomously navigate and plot a 2D map. It follows a very basic approach and is dependent on ultrasonic sensors and a digital compass. The entire systemconsists of a robot and an application that is used for monitoring and mapping.The map constructed is based on three hcsr04 readings and the heading of the robotis determined by a grove digital compass. Sonar readings are sent by therobot to the application which processes the data for mapping the pathtraversed. The robot is a standalone system and the autonomous navigation isdone by the on-board controller that is an Arduino.
