If you've ever been to Baker's Old Wing, you may know about the doors that blare an alarm when you leave them open for too long. Our project is an upgraded version of these doors.
We've added a timer that starts counting down when the door is opened. The alarm sounds when the timer hits zero - but instead of just a normal siren, we made it play a sick beat (may not help as much, but at least it'll sound cool). Also, we use the light sensor to determine the interval for countdown: if it's dark out, it would be more likely that someone might try to break in, so the time limit will be lower.
We also want to keep people from tampering with the sensor to disable the alarm, so we've added an ultrasonic sensor that sounds an additional alarm when an object is detected too close to the sensor.
