LinkIt smart 7688 has 32MB flash on the board, and it supports Micro SD for extra storage if you need. In this tutorial ,we will introduce how to mount a SD card in 7688 and read/write the file in it. As the breakout for LinkIt smart 7688 has an audio output module, playing the music in your SD card is supported.
Things you need:
Linkit smart 7688 *1
Breakout for LinkIt smart 7688 *1
3.5mm headset *1
SD card *1
USB Cable *1
Now, insert your SD card into the Micro SD Slot and your headset into the headset slot. It is OK!
After inserting the SD card, we are able to see the folder of SD card in /dev :
cd /dev ls
As the picture above, mmcblk0p1(or other mmcblk0pX) is the folder of SD card. And we will use “mount” command to visit the SD card:
mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt cd /mnt ls
We have mounted the SD card on /mnt folder just now and now we can see the file in SD card.
As There are 2 songs in my SD card, let’s try to play music on 7688! Utility madplay has been pre-installed on 7688. And you just need to type madplay filename.mp3 ,then you can listen to music on your headset.
When I type the following command, it will play the music list repeatedly:
madplay -r neworder.mp3 lastorder.mp3
In addition, “copy” command can be used to transmit file between 7688 and your SD card. But remember there are less than 10MB usable storage on 7688.
There are some advanced features with SD card used and I hope you can have a try:
1.Set a samba server on your 7688 and share the files on SD card
2.Offline download on SD card
3.Set SD card as extroot
